Les Salins de Giraud

The village of Salin-de-Giraud is located south-east of the Camargue delta in the South of France.

The exploitation of salt in Les Salins dates back to the Neolithic period. 

The vast area of the salt marshes is of great ecological and landscape interest. The development of a small number of invertebrate species provides abundant food for birds. Many bird species choose the Camargue for nesting, including flamingos.
