Aix-en-Provence — Acquae Sextiae
Aix is a city in southern France, about 30 km north of Marseille. A former capital of Provence, Aix (Aquae Sextiae) was founded in 123 BC by a Roman consul.
In the 12th century it became an artistic center. Aix is famous for its flower markets, its numerous cultural and artistic events and its 130 fountains.
